Mental health is not a destination, it’s a process. A process that involves work, yet a process that leads to a healthier, happier, you!
I have over 10 years of experience working with diverse populations in the human service field. As a social worker I have provided children and families solution focused, strength based interventions that have contributed to them becoming successful, healthy individuals. I have worked both as a home based therapist as well as in a group setting. My specialties are working with children and adults who suffer from anxiety, depression, trauma, behavior issues, abuse/ neglect and substance abuse. I understand the importance of providing a safe, compassionate and empathetic environment for my clients in which they feel free from judgement and are able to express themselves in a productive, healthy way.
As a therapist I use a cognitive behavioral, solution focused and strengths based approach which includes motivational interviewing. I utilize a person centered approach which allows me to create relationships based in genuine acceptance and empathic understanding. I am open to using a Christian perspective to those who wish to incorporate their faith into sessions. I am respectful of my client’s choices related to religion, sexuality and cultural norms.
I encourage clients to be open and honest during sessions as open communication makes for the most successful outcomes.
Lastly, it is my goal to assist clients in working toward their personal goals and desires in order to help them reach their true potential.
